Community
In 10 years I want multiple RESET locations serving thousands of people on their fitness and wellness journeys. We are recognized and the most fun, friendly, and effective gym in the world.
Our Core Values
- Continual learning
- We find daily wins. Sometimes this is just showing up
- The needs of our community direct us. They don’t always know what they need
- Everyone is free to fail. We expect it occasionally, or we aren’t taking enough risks.
- It has to be safe, fun, and effective most of the time. And prioritized in that order.
Everyone who agrees with the above is welcome. Except Kanye.
Purpose
Improve society by connecting people with a sense of possibility through the unparalleled experience of tapping into the most powerful parts of themselves.
-this needs a more direct connection to movement/exercise

I am not sure if it is templated or not

12 Pillars of
- Hard
We believe in the power of doing hard things. By doing hard things in the gym we effectively reduce the difficulty of hard things outside of the gym. We increase our resiliency by doing hard things. Our willpower can be increased by doing hard things. Science has discovered the seat of willpower. It is the anterior midcingulate cortex and it grows and shrinks like a muscle. Use it more and it grows. Use it less and it shrinks It only grows by doing things we don’t want to do. Doing hard things can make it grow and the more it grows the more we are able to do hard things.
- Heavy
We believe in the power of lifting heavy things to change us physically and mentally. Lifting heavy things not only makes our muscles and joints stronger it has the power to make us stronger between the ears as well. We learn a great deal about ourselves when we submit to the burden of heavy objects on our bodies. We also learn how to effectively and efficiently move large loads which is a part of life. Heavy is relative and we want our relative heavy to exceed the demands of our everyday life by as large a margin as possible so we can do our everyday tasks with ease.
- Community
We believe in the power of training in community, and strengthening our community. One of the unifiers among the happiest, healthiest, and longest-living people in the world is community. We are social animals and that includes how we train. We stick with it longer, work harder, and get better results when we work together. This means our hyper-local gym community, as well as our neighborhood, our city, and the expanding rings of communities in which each of our members are a part. As we strengthen our fitness community our members can go out into their other respective communities as more vibrant beings to radiate change. This ripple effect can change the world.
- Coaching
We believe that professional coaching is central to our training. We are not cheerleaders and clock watchers. We are here to guide, instruct, inspire, and educate. We give you a set of skills and an understanding of the tools and methods to maintain fitness for a lifetime. Every session is a chance to grow in your work capacity and in understanding of the process. We are obsessed with the quality fo your movement. We are committed to your development physically emotionally, and psychologically. This starts with professional and polished coaches.
- Hot
We believe in the power of heat as a transformative and restorative force in our lives. Heat exposure has health benefits that can make today better as well as give you more tomorrows. The physical and psychological benefits of heat on the human body borders on science fiction and must truly be experienced to fully understand. Heat is restorative, purifying, and fortifying. We can simultaneously heal our body and strengthen our minds through the power of heat. Our preference is traditional Finnish-style sauna to capitalise on higher heat levels which can allow for shorter sessions, centuries of empirical and scientific data on health and longevity, and better integration into contrast therapy.
- Cold
We believe in the power of cold exposure and the incredible adaptations that to from a neurological as well as a physiological perspective. Cold water immersion has been shown to produce so many benefits it almost sounds like junk science but with usage and benefits dating back to 3500 BC we consider the case for cold to be quite strong. Cold exposure produces reductions in inflammation, muscle soreness, and joint stiffness. It can increase energy, focus, and neurotransmitter activity. Cold can improve mood, boost your metabolism, build mental resilience and grit. It is hard and that is good thing. Along with the specific benefits directly correlated with cold water immersion it has the added benefit of checking another box in our pillars of doing hard things.
- Breath
We believe in the power of breathwork to create powerful change in the body and mind. Your body has it’s own built in pharmacy and through the power of your breath you can harness that pharmacy to change the chemistry of your blood and the state of your mind. Through the power of your breath you can tame your nervous system and bring what had been previously though to be a completely autonomous system under your control. How we breathe affects every aspect of our lives.
- Eat real food
We believe that our bodies are best served when we fuel them with simple, natural, and when possible, local and organic food. The shorter the ingredient list the better. Avoid processing as much as you can. More vegetables, less sugar. We believe foods with just one ingredient are best. We believe that the food industrial complex is setting you up for failure and this might be the hardest pillar for most people. Every bit of effort here counts. Paleo, vegan, and everything in between. Do the thing that works for you and then do it better over time.
- Take it outside
We believe in the power of getting outside and using these wonderful bodies of ours. Swim, run, hike, bike, get dirty, get tired, get out into the woods, up in the mountains, or into the water. We have an inexplicable link to this planet and the more you can connect with it the better your life will be. Everything we do in the gym is with the intention that these bodies will last us a long time and serve us well. Make sure you get some dirt under your fingernails, and a couple of scars from playing hard. The value of sunshine on your face and grass under your feet cannot be overstated. Take your fitness outside as often as you can.
- Pliability
We believe in the power of freedom of movement. We want to be strong and capable to be sure and to that we want to add flexible joints, and supple muscles that are free of pain complete in their ranges of motion. A resilient human in more than just strong and powerful. They also move well, often and with ease. Your lifespan is only as meaningful as your healthspan and remaining pliable as we age is a gift to our future self. Pliability offers us the freedom to physically do whatever we want and having a buffer between injury when it goes a little sideways. It is not about falling and not being able to get up. It is about confidently signing up for kite surfing lessons on your 74th birthday.
- Continual learning
We believe in the power of lifelong learning and a growth mindset. Our brains never stop changing and by learning new skills, taking on new challenges, helps keep our minds sharp. These adaptations translate into so many other areas of life.
- Inclusivity
We believe in the power of inclusive spaces that are safe and inclusive space. We recognize the dignity and worth of every person and we are committed to creating an environment that is safe, accessible, inclusive, and respectful of all members and visitors. To create this important space for our community, we do not tolerate oppression on the basis of race, ethnicity, economic status, gender/gender identity, sexual orientation, immigration status, religion, ability, size, or age.
